The Aim Of The Course

The course aims to study areas of ecofeminism.

Course Content

Ecofeminism is an area of study that shows the parallels between human/nature and male/female relations as power and domination relations and the possibility of studying all these hierarchical relations within the framework of social justice. In this course the students will be exposed to readings that establish the identity between the domination over nature and women and the one between the race, gender, and class domination patterns and the patterns of human domination over nature. After this introduction to the relations between women and the environment, students will examine definitions, branches and study areas of ecofeminism and study the relations between the ecological feminism and other branches of feminism.
